Sintra off the beaten path | 1 Day

In this tour we will start seeing a few palaces from the outside before a small breakfast in the city center.

Then we will visit one monument inside (Biester  palace or monserrate).

The Biester perhaps because it only opened to the public in 2022,  still slips under the radar for many visitors to Sintra, this property, dating from the 19th century, is a perfect example of the romantic architecture.

The Monserrate its a palace a little bit outside the center and because of that its also quiet, It is a suggestive example of Portuguese Romanticism walking among trees from the four corners of the world, waterfalls and lakes,  is like feeling enveloped by that mystique.

We head to the coast of Sintra, where we will have lunch with a sea view.

After lunch, on the way to Cabo da Roca (westernmost point of Continental Europe), if we have time and if the temperature allows us, we will stop at the Sanctuary of Peninha, one of the highest points in Serra de Sintra, almost 500m  (1640ft) above sea level,  has the best views in the Parque Natural Sintra-Cascais, this area is very exposed to winds, so foggy days are frequent here.

We will then drive along the coast to see some of the most beautiful beaches in the area until we reach Cascais, where we will enjoy its center for a while before returning to Lisbon.

Please bring your passport or ID card. Participants aged 65 and over receive discount on entrance fees to museums and monuments.
